BMP-2 (Bone morphogenetic protein 2) is multi-functional growth factors that belong to the transforming growth factor beta (TGF beta) superfamily. It plays an important role in embryonic dorsal-ventral patterning, organogenesis, limb bud formation, and bone formation and regeneration. BMP-2 also promotes the maintenance and repair of colonic epithelium, suppresses neuronal dopamine synthesis and release, induces apoptosis in medulloblastoma cells, and is required for cardiac contractility. Recombinant human BMP-2 protein was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques, after refolding of the isolated inclusion body in renaturation buffer. Endotoxin Level: 1.0 EU per 1 ug of protein (determined by LAL method)15% SDS-PAGE (3ug) Molecular Weight: 13kD (115aa) AA Sequence: MQAKHKQRKR LKSSCKRHPL YVDFSDVGWN DWIVAPPGYH AFYCHGECPF PLADHLNSTN HAIVQTLVNS VNSKIPKACC VPTELSAISM LYLDENEKVV LKNYQDMVVE GCGCR Storage and Stability: For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: 13kD |
