Human BDNF is a member of the NGF family of neurotrophic growth factors which supports neuron proliferation and survival. BDNF mediates its neurotrophic properties by signaling through a high affinity cell surface seceptor called gp145/trkB. Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to stimulate chick E8 neurite outgrowth. The ED50 is 0.1-0.01ng/ml. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 6 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 1 month at 4°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: ~27kD |
Source: E. coli Purity: ~95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC Endotoxin: 1EU/ug (LAL) Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 10mM acetic acid, 0.3M sodium chloride. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O to 0.1mg/ml.
