Human Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor is a homodimer, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2 x 119 amino acids. The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to be Met-His-Ser-Asp-Pro. Contains less than 1% dimers and aggregates. Source: Recombinant Human Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: 26,984 Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose dependent induction of ACHE (acetylcholine esterase) in rat basal forebrain primary septal culture is 50ng/ml. Endotoxin: 0.1 ng/ug Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20°C. For long-term storage, add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA), Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: ~26,984 |
