Calpain I, Domain III (Mu Calpain, Protein Kinase C Activating Factor)
Description:
Application(s):
Immunocytochemistry (1:100)
Western Blot (1:2000)
Note: Not recommended for immunoprecipitation.

This antibody has been successfully used in Western blot procedures to detect u-calpain from human platelets and erythrocytes, bovine platelets, heart and skeletal muscle, and rat myoblasts, kidney, liver and spleen. Immunofluorescence staining ofu-calpain in porcine LLC-PK1 cells with 804-050 results in diffuse cytoplasmic staining. This product has not been shown to be effective in immunoprecipitation experiments.

Liquid. Ascites containing 0.05% sodium azide.
Specificity:
Recognizes an epitope in domain III (aa 465-520) of -calpain from several mammalian sources (e.g. human, rat, pig, bovine). Detects a band of ~80kDa by Western blot. Does not cross-react with m-calpain, n-calpain, calmodulin or calpastatin.
Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
