Antimicrobic for the selective isolation of Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli. Used for the supplementation of Campylobacter Blood Agar Base. This antimicrobic supplement provides for reduced growth of normal enteric bacteria and better growth and recovery of C. jejuni from fecal specimens. Presence of Amphotericin B in the supplement inhibits growth of fungi. Cephalothin inhibits the normal bacterial flora associated with fecal samples. Rehydration Instructions: Use aspetic technique in rehydrating the supplement and in adding the supplement to the basal medium. Reconstitute contents of one vial with 5ml sterile, purified water. Each vial is sufficient for use with 500ml basal medium. Storage and Stability: Unopened vials stored at 4°C is good for up to 24 months. Do not open or rehydrate until ready to use. Contents of rehydrated vial can be stored at 4°C and must be used within 24 hours after rehydration. Do not use the rehydrated supplement if it is contaminaed, partially or totally evaporated, or shows other signs of deterioration.
