CDR2 (Cerebellar Degeneration-related Protein 2, Paraneoplastic Cerebellar Degeneration-associated Antigen, Major Yo Paraneoplastic Antigen, PCD17) |
|
|
Description: CDR2 (Cerebellar degeneration related protein 2) is an onconeuronal antigen; i.e. an antigen that is expressed by systemic tumors and elicits an immune response that may develop into an autoimmune neuronal degeneration. Paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration (PCD) is a disorder in which breast or ovarian tumors express CDR2, which normally is expressed in cerebellar Purkinje neurons. Patients with PCD carry a characteristic antibody called anti-Yo. Anti-Yo sera reacts with at least 2 antigens, a major species CDR2, and a minor species CDR1. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
