Cell Surface Marker (Neurons, Neuronal Precursors) |
|
|
Description: Because of their ability to identify neuronal precursors from a mixed culture of cells, antibodies to cell surface markers have become an important investigation tool in cell culture screening. Studies using the anti-Cell Surface Marker, clone mAb 2F7 have shown that this antibody labels the surfaces of neurons and neuronal precursors, but not mature oligodendrocytes and astrocytes derived from primary cultures (Schubert W, et al). Though the exact epitope of mAb 2F7 has not been determined, original characterization of this clone has revealed that the epitope is likely to be comprised of N-linked carbohydrates, and is localized on several high-molecular-weight membrane-associated proteins. Thus it is believed that anti-Cell Surface Marker, clone mAb 2F7 antibody recognizes a novel epitope region present on progenitor cells and postmitotic differentiating neurons in the developing mammalian nervous system. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Rat spinal cord E16 lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
