Chromogranin A (CgA, CHGA, Parathyroid Secretory Protein 1, Pituitary Secretory Protein I, SP-I)
Description:
Chromogranin A is a secreted peptide that inhibits glucose-induced insulin release. Chromogranin A is an activator of microglia (Taupenaut et al. 1996) and is notably upregulated and prominantly expressed in the senile plaques associated with Alzheimer's disease (Yasuhara et al. 1994).

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:25-1:100. Requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections. Pronase is recommended for this purpose
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

IHC Positive Control:
Human pancreas

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
