Chromogranin A (CGA, CHG A, Pancreastatin, Parathyroid secretory protein 1, Pituitary secretory protein I, Vasostatin, SPI)
Description:
Chromogranin A is a protein of 439aa which is encoded on chromosome 14. It is present in neuroendocrine cells throughout the body, including the neuroendocrine cells of the large and small intestine, adrenal medulla and pancreatic islets. It is an excellent marker for carcinoid tumors, pheo-chromocytomas, paragangliomas, and other neuro-endocrine tumors. Coexpression of chromogranin A and neuron specific enolase (NSE) is common in neuroendocrine neoplasms.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded sections). Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:400 for 10 mins. at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues
requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by
cooling at RT for 20 min.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic

Positive Control: Pancreas

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
