Description: Claudins are integral membrane proteins involved in the assembly and function of tight junction strands. Claudins have 4 transmembrane domains and 2 extracellular loops and C-terminal tail containing PDZ-binding motifs and YV sequences. Claudin 3, a human homolog of rat RVP1, is a unique member of this family. It is a low-affinity receptor for Clostridium perfringes entertoxin capable of mediating toxin-dependent cytolysis. Claudin-3 has been found to be phosphorylated and up-regulated in various cancer types suggesting a potential role in tumorigenesis. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:50-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Small intestine Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic and cell membrane Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
