Cycloechinulin is an unusual diketopiperazine isolated from Aspergillus ochraceus. Cycloechinulin has not been extensively studied but has been reported to exhibit insecticidal activity against the lepidopteran crop pest Helicoverpa zea. Recently, cycloechinulin has found use a secondary metabolite standard for polyphasic taxonomy in Aspergillus. Source: Aspergillus ochraceus MST-FP2005 Apperance: Light tan solid Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO. Limited water solubility Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
