|
Description: CYP1B1 is a 543aa intracellular protein localized to the endoplasmic reticulum. It belongs to the cytochrome P450 super family of enzymes which are monooxygenases and it catalyzes many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This enzyme metabolizes procarcinogens such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and 17beta-estradiol and is also involved in the metabolism of substances active in the eye growth and differentiation and hence plays a putative role in ocular development. Mutated proteins are known to cause primary congenital glaucoma. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5-10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human brain Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
