Cytomegalovirus (Biotin) |
|
|
Description: Cytomegalovirus is an enveloped double stranded DNA virus which in humans (HCMV) is commonly known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5). Glycoprotein B (gB) is the main antigenic protein within the envelope of HCMV. It is required for HCMV mediated membrane fusion along with the gH/gL complex. The unprocessed precursor of HCMV gB is 906 amino acids in length, with a MW of ~100kD. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
