Description: Cytomegalovirus is a member of the Herpesviridae family. It may be transmitted from person to person through urine, saliva, other bodily fluids, breast milk and transplanted organs. It is a common infection which mostly passes unnoticed. The infection may be dangerous to people who are immunocompromised such as those who are HIV positive or organ transplant recipients. The infection may also be dangerous to pre- and post-natal infants. Antiviral drugs are useful in the treatment of CMV infection. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Sandwich ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Sandwich ELISA: Can be used as either the capture or detection Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
