Description: Defensins are a group of cyclic peptides containing 29-35aa, which comprise approximately 30% of the total protein content of neutrophil azurophilic granules. Various functions have been reported for the defensins, including antibacterial and antifungal activity and chemotactic activity for monocytes. D1950-01A recognizes alpha defensins (human neutrophil peptides). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
