DNA Methyltransferase 1 (DNMT, MCMT, M.Hsa1, DNA (cytosine-5-)-methyltransferase 1, DNA MTase Mmu1, M.HsaI) |
|
|
Description: DNA methyltransferases (Dnmts) methylates the 5-position of cytosine in the context of CpG dinucleotides. DNA methylation is crucial for normal embryonic development, genetic imprinting, and X-chromosome inactivation. DNA (cytosine-5-)-methyltransferase 1 has a role in the establishment and regulation of tissue-specific patterns of methylated cytosine residues. Aberrant methylation patterns are associated with certain human tumors and developmental abnormalities. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
