DNA, ss
Description:
Anti-ssDNA (Single-stranded DNA) allows the important discrimination between apoptosis and necrosis. In this respect it can be regarded as a unique research tool superior to TUNEL staining.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Farr Assay. Other applications have not been tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Biological Activity:
Farr Assay: Demonstrates anti-ssDNA activity.
Note: 24% (normal <13%) of the radio-iodinated DNA precipitates with this antibody..

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Immunogen:
Derived from donor human serum.
Purity:
Purified by fractionation of delipidated and defibrinated donor human serum.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.2, 0.02% sodium azide. Reconstitute in 2ml sterile ddH2O.
Specificity:
Displays only Anti-ssDNA activity when tested by ELISA. Undiluted antibody shows a strong Scl-70 precipitin band. Specificity verified by a precipitin line of identity with the CDC-AF reference serum and by ELISA procedures using both native DNA and ssDNA. Does not crossreact at a dilution of 1:100 when tested against purified Ro/SS-A, La/SS-B, Sm, Scl-70, nRNP, dsDNA, or Jo-1 antigens in an ELISA system designed to detect IgG
Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
