Description:
Endomucin is an 80-120kD glycoprotein member of the Endomucin family of proteins. It is expressed on endothelial cells and depending upon its glycosylation pattern, can serve as either a pro- or anti-adhesive molecule.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin): 1:5-1:10
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity:
Recognizes human Endomucin, a mucus glycoprotein, located mainly in carcinoma cells and in the glycocalix of most glandular epithelial cells. An excellent marker for carcinomas, occasionally it shows very weak reactivity with sarcomas and brain tumours. Does not react with normal colon or rectal epithelium but colorectal carcinomas are stained positive.
