Description:
Beta-endorphin occurs in cells in the anterior pituitary. Beta-endorphin may be detected in tumors of the pituitary, gastroinestinal and bronchial carcinoids.

Applications:
Suitable for use in RIA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue): 1:50-1:100 No proteolytic pretreatment required.
Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity:
Recognizes human beta-Endorphin. Absorption with 10-100ug beta-endorphin per ml diluted antiserum inactivates the antiserum, while beta-lipotropin, met-enkephalin and leu-enkephalin do not. Species Crossreactivity: Mouse and rat.
