Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is a polypeptide growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells. Recombinant murine EGF is a 6.0kD protein containing 53 amino acid residues. Amino Acid Sequence: NSYPGCPSSY DGYCLNGGVC MHIESLDSYT CNCVIGYSGD RCQTRDLRWW ELR Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using BALB/c 3T3 cells is 0.1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e7 units/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 3 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: 6kD |
Source: E. coli. Purity: 8% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug (1EU/ug). Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 10mM sodium phosphate, pH 8.2. Reconstitute sterile ddH2O to 0.5-1mg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
