Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is a polypeptide growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells. Recombinant murine EGF is a 6.0kD protein containing 53 amino acid residues.

Biological Activity:
The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using BALB/c 3T3 cells is 0.1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e7 units/mg.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Purity: 8% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 10mM sodium phosphate, pH 8.2. Reconstitute sterile ddH2O to 0.5-1mg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions
