| Specificity: |
| Recognizes epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), a heavily glycosylated protein of 265-400kD.This antibody stains normal and neoplastic epithelium including adenocarcinomas from a range of sites, squamous and transitional cell carcinomas and mesotheliomas. Strong staining of glandular epithelium is seen, but staining of squamous epithelium may be rather patchy. Positive staining with this antibody demonstrates epithelial origin of tumors. |
