Fibroblast Growth Factor-5 is a heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Recombinant Human FGF-5 is a 27.5kD protein containing 252 amino residues.

Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors is 0.5ng/ml, corresponding to a speci c activity of 2x10e6u/mg.

Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at RT/4C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile PBS, aliquot and store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12-12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
