The FGFs play key roles in controlling tissue growth, morphogenesis and repair in animals. FGF-6 is a newly discovered heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Recombinant Human FGF-6 is a 18.7kD protein containing 168 amino residues. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors is 0.5 ng/ml, corresponding to a speci c activity of 2 x10e6 units/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Country of Origin: USA Molecular Weight: 18.7kD |
Source: E. coli Purity: 95% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug (1EU/ug). Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 10mM Tris, pH 7.4 and 100mM sodium chloride. Reconstitute in dH2O, to 0.5-1mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
