Fibroblast growth factor-9 (FGF-9) is a steroid-regulated mitogen and survival factor for nerve and mesenchymal cells, it is an autocrine/paracrine growth factor considered to be important for the growth and survival of motorneurons and prostate. Biological Activity: Recombinant Mouse FGF-9 is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of BAF3 cells expressing FGF receptors (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is <0.5ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2x10e6 Units/mg.
