The FGFs play key roles in controlling tissue growth, morphogenesis and repair in animals. FGF-16 is a newly discovered heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Recombinant Human FGF-16 is a 23.7kD protein containing 207 amino residues. Source: E.coli Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 0.5x PBS, 0.5mM DTT. Stability: The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -20°C. Reconstituted FGF-16 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Freeze/thaw cycles will result in signi cant loss of activity. Purity: 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug (1EU/ug). Reconstitution: Reconstitute in dH2O to a concentration of 0.5-1.0mg/ml. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors is 0.5 ng/ml, corresponding to a speci c activity of 2 x 10e6 units/mg. Country of Origin: USA |
