The FGFs play key roles in controlling tissue growth, morphogenesis and repair in animals. FGF-17 is a newly discovered heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Recombinant Human FGF-17 is a 22.7kDa protein containing 195 amino residues. Source: E.coli Form: The sterile ltered solution was lyophilized from 10 mM Tris, pH8.0, 30 mM sodium chloride. Stability: The lyophilized protein is stable for few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -20°C. Reconstituted FGF-17 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Freeze/thaw cycles will result in signi cant loss of activity. Purity: 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug (1EU/ug). Reconstitution: We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in 5mM Tris, pH 8.0 to a concentration of 0.1–1.0mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for future use. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors is 0.5ng/ml, corresponding to a speci c activity of 2 x 10e6 units/mg.
