Fractalkine is a large cytokine protein containing multiple domains and is the only known member of the CX3C chemokine family. Fractalkine is produced as a long protein (with 373aa in humans) with an extended mucin-like stalk and a chemokine domain on top. The mucin-like stalk permits it to bind to the surface of certain cells. Fractalkine elicits its adhesive and migratory functions by interacting with the chemokine receptor CX3CR1. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa25-100 from human Fractalkine, fused to 6x His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
Source: E. coli Purity: ~95% (SDS-PAGE) Concentration: As reported Form: Supplied as liquid. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
