Glutamate Transporter Type 3, Vesicular (Vesicular glutamate transporter 3, SLC17A8, Solute carrier family 17, sodium dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter member 8)
Description:
Glutamate Transporter Type 3, Vesicular (VGLUT3) is a 60-62kD membrane bound protein demonstrated to have glutamate transporter activity. VGLUT3 is likely to play a role in glutamate transport in synaptic vesicles of cholinergic and serotoninergic neurons.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Radioimmunodiffusion, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunomicroscopy. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Radioimmunodiffusion: 1:500
Immunohistochemistry: 1:5000
Western Blot: 1:2000
Immunomicroscopy (electronic microscopy): 1:5000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Form
Supplied as a liquid, 50% glycerol. No preservative added.
Specificity:
Recognizes rat Glutamate Transporter Type 3, Vesicular. Reacts specifically with 60-62kD protein of BON cells stably expressing VGLUT3 and with total rat brain extracts. No reactivity detected with VGLUT1 and VGLUT2.
