Technical Data
G8127-11B
Glutathione Peroxidase 1 (GPX1, GPx-1, Cellular Glutathione Peroxidase, HGNC:4553, GSHPX1, GSHPx-1 MGC14399, MGC88245)
Description:
Protects the hemoglobin in erythrocytes from oxidative breakdown. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: 2 glutathione + H2O2 = glutathione disulfide + 2 H2O. SUBUNIT: Homotetramer. It belongs to the glutathione peroxidase family.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen and Paraffin): 1:2000- 1:20,000
Western Blot: 1:10,000- 1:100,000. Under reducing conditions recognizes a 22kD protein in human brain tissue and glutathione peroxidase isolated from human erythrocytes.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Recommended Tissues:
Human and rat brain microglia.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
