Description: Glypican-4, previously known as K-glypican, is a GPI-linked cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycan of the glypican gene family, that comprises 6 members at present. Its function is only partially understood at present. However, glypican-4 seems to be involved in the control of cell growth and diffe-rentiation, especially in the development of the central nervous system and the kidney. Furthermore, glypican-4 is expressed by haematopoetic stem cells and bone marrow stromal cells. Although the antiserum was prepared against a peptide from hu man glypican-4, due to the highly conserved structure and se-quence of glypican-4, antiserum anti-peptide 1 (aa88-101) was used successfully to study brain development in the mouse. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blotting: 1:1000-1:2000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
