Recombinant G-CSF comprises a 174 amino acid fragment (31-204) corresponding to the mature short form of the G-CSF protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. G-CSF is a growth factor and/or cytokine produced by the endothelium, macrophages and a number of other immune cells. G-CSF stimulates the bone marrow to produce granulocytes and also to stimulate the survival, proliferation, differentiation and function of neutrophil granulocyte progenator cells and mature neutrophils. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
