Granulocyte Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF) is a potent species specific stimulator of bone marrow cells. GM-CSF stimulates precursor cells of granulocytes, macrophages, and eosinophils. Murine GM-CSF is a 14.0kD protein containing 125 amino acid residues. Biological Activity: Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine FDC-P1 cells. The ED50 is 0.2ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 5x10e6u/mg. Responding Cells (partial list): Certain BM Precursor cells. For most in vitro applications, murine GM-CSF exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.05-0.5ng/ml. Amino Acid Sequence: The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was found to be Met-Ala-Pro-Thr-Arg. Storage and Stability: For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Country of Origin: USA Molecular Weight: 14.2kD |
