Hanks' Balanced Salt Solution is designed for use with cells maintained in non-CO2 atmospheric conditions. HBSS requires 0.35g/L of sodium bicarbonate and pH adjustment prior to filtration. It contain 1g/L of glucose.


Directions: 1. Dissolve 9.8 grams per liter of distilled/deionized water, heating with stirring until completely solubilized. 2. Adjust to desired pH.

3. Dispense into appropriate containers, loosen caps and autoclave for 15-30 minutes at 121ºC (15 psi).

Appearance: Homogenous, free flowing powder
