Hepatitis B Core Antigen (HBcAg)
Description:
The Hepatitis B virus is one of the most important causative agents of acute and chronic liver disease in humans. HBcAg is a particulate antigen composed of a single polypeptide (p21). It is the replicative form of the virus, and is expressed in the infected cells.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunoprecipitation: Use in vitro-translated core and pre-core proteins.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity:
Recognizes HBcAg core antigen (aa130-145). Strongly recognizes WHc (but not DHBc) in ELISA and Western Blot. Reacts with synthetic HBc peptides.
