HDAC2 (Histone Deacetylase 2, HD2)
HDAC-2 is a member of a large family of enzymes that alter gene expression by catalyzing the removal of acetyl groups from core histones. Originally isolated as a transcriptional co-repressor, HDAC-2 possesses extensive aa sequence homology to HDAC1 (the founding member and most extensively studied HDAC enzyme). HDAC-2 forms transcriptional repressor complexes by associating with many different proteins, including YY1, a mammalian zinc-finger transcription factor. Thus it plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events.

Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:50-1:100
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
HeLa and 293 cells

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
