Technical Data
HOXA9 (Homeobox Protein Hox-A9, Homeobox Protein Hox-1G, HOX1G)
Homeobox protein Hox A9 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HOXA9 gene. In vertebrates, the genes encoding the class of transcription factors called homeobox genes are found in clusters named A, B, C, and D on four separate chromosomes. Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. This gene is part of the A cluster on chromosome 7 and encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor which may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation. This gene is highly similar to the abdominal-B (Abd-B) gene of Drosophila. A specific translocation event which causes a fusion between this gene and the NUP98 gene has been associated with myeloid leukemogenesis.

Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and EMSA Complex Ablation. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml. Detects Hox A9 in C2C12 cell lysates treated with PV. C2C12 cell lysates treated with PV were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF and probed with H7023. Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-rabbit and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunofluorescence: Reported to detect Hox A9 in fixed cells.
EMSA Complex Ablation: Reported to disrupt DNA-protein complexes containing Hox A9 in EMSA.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Recommended Secondary Antibodies:
I1904-39: IgG, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb
I1904-40A: IgG, H&L, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb I1904-46Q: IgG, H&L (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

200ug-20CBlue IceMouseRabbit
GST fusion protein corresponding to aa194-272 of mouse Hox A9. Species sequence homology: human, chicken, guinea pig (100%).
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.6, 0.1% sodium azide, before the addition of glycerol to 30%.
Recognizes mouse Hox A9 at ~36kD. Species Crossreactivity: human. Broad species crossreactivity is expected due to immunogen sequence homology.
Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
