Description:
Immunoglobulin G (IgG) are antibody molecules. Each IgG is composed of four peptide chains-two heavy chains and two light chains. Each IgG has two antigen binding sites. Other Immunoglobulins may be described in terms of polymers with the IgG structure considered the monomer. IgG constitutes 75% of serum immunoglobulins in humans. IgG molecules are synthesized and secreted by plasma B cells. There are 4 IgG isotypes, IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 and IgG4. IgG4 makes up 4% of total IgG.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity:
Recognizes human IgG4 (kappa and lambda light chain). Fc region specific. No crossreactivty was found against IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgM, IgA and IgD. Determined by hemagglutination of sheep red blood cells coated with purified human myeloma immunoglobulin, using chromic chloride. A positive reaction occurred with cells coated with IgG (Fc portion), polyclonal IgG and IgG4 (kappa or lambda light chain). Negative reaction occurred with cells coated with IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, free kappa or lambda, IgM, IgA1 (lambda), IgA2 (kappa) and IgD (lambda).
