Insulin Like Growth Factor-II (IGF-II) is a polypeptide growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of cell types. Human IGF-II is a 7.5kD protein containing 67 amino acid residues.

Biological Activity:
The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent induction of MCF-7 cell proliferation was found to be 0.85ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of 1,176,470IU/mg.

AA Sequence:
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ala-Tyr-Arg-Pro-Ser.

Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile dH2O, 0.1% HSA or BSA . Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
