IL1A (Interleukin-1 alpha, IL-1 alpha, Hematopoietin-1, IL1F1)
Interleukin 1 alpha is synthesized as a 31kD promolecule that does not contain a signal sequence. Following proteolytic cleavage, the mature 17kD molecule is released as a result of cell injury or apoptosis. IL-1 alpha stimulates bone osteoclast activity, has a role in the modulation of extracellular fluid calcium homeostasis and apoptosis, activates T and B lymphocytes and NK cells, and functions in development. Movement of the IL-1 alpha promolecule to the nucleus in response to endotoxin where it augments transcription of proinflammatory genes has also been documented.

Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:400
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
