Recombinant mouse Interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1a) produced in E. coli is a non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 156aa and has a molecular weight of 18kD. Murine IL-1a is a potent immuno-modulator that mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses.

Biological Activity:
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine D10S cells was found to be <0.01ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e8 IU/mg.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
