IL-1 beta is an inflammatory cytokine that might modulate angiogenesis by directly interacting with vascular endothelial cells or enhancing the production of proangiogenic factors via paracrine control. IL-1 beta stimulates endothelial cell migration and proliferation, adhesion-molecule expression, inflammatory mediator production, and leukocyte recruitment. IL-1 beta is required for tumor growth, metastasis, and angiogenesis in several animal models.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
