Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1beta) is a potent immunomodulator which mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses, including the activation of B and T cells. Murine IL-1b is a 17.5kD protein containing 153 amino acid residues. Biological Activity: Murine IL-1b is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of murine D10S cells is 0.002ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 5x10e8 units/mg. Responding Cells (partial list): Leukocytes.
