Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) is a naturally occurring protein which inhibits the activity of IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta by competitively blocking binding to cell surface receptors for IL-1. Applications: Suitable for use in Functional Assays. Other applications not tested. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug Biological Activity: In an assay of dose dependent inhibition of IL-1 stimulation of D10S cells, the ED50 was expectedto be 20-40ng/ml. Recommended Dilution: Functional Assays: 20-40ng/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: 17kD |
Source: Recombinant corresponding to human IL-1RA produced in E. coli Purity: ~98% (SDS PAGE). Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from TBS. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile dH2O. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
