Interleukin 1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA) |
|
|
Description: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This protein inhibits the activities of interleukin 1, alpha (IL1A) and interleukin 1, beta (IL1B), and modulates a variety of interleukin 1 related immune and inflammatory responses. This gene and five other closely related cytokine genes form a gene cluster spanning approximately 400 kb on chromosome 2. A polymorphism of this gene is reported to be associated with increased risk of osteoporotic fractures and gastric cancer. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Chemiluminescent Immuno Assay (CLIA). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen ELISA: 20-2000pg/ml CLIA: 0.050-15ng/ml Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
