IL18BP (Interleukin-18-binding Protein, IL-18BP, Tadekinig-alfa) |
|
|
Description: IL-18BP, a 40kD glycoprotein, is a member of Ig super family. It consists of a single Ig-like domain and acts as a circulating anti-inflammatory protein. It is a secretory protein which binds to IL-18 with high affinity and prevents its interaction with IL-18R, resulting in inhibition of IL-18 induced IFN-gamma, IL-8 and NF-kB production. Its expression is up-regulated by IFN-gamma, thus providing a negative feed-back mechanism in shutting off IL-18 mediated immune responses. It is constitutively expressed in mononuclear cells and its role has been implicated in treatment of contact hypersensitivity. Northern Blot analysis detected a strong expression in spleen and its pathological implications have been observed in Crohn's disease. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
