Useful in the identification of leukemias, plasmacytomas and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. The most common feature of these malignancies is the restricted expression of a single light chain class. Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates that the infiltrate is clonal and therefore malignant. Immunoglobulin bearing Kappa light chains are present on about 60% of normal B lymphocytes.

This antibody binds to mouse B lymphocytes, mouse IgM and mouse IgG monoclonal antibodies and recognizes mouse Ig kappa chains. In ELISA assay no binding to mouse lambda chains is seen.
