KIF22 (Kinesin Family Member 22, KIF-22, Kinesin-like DNA-binding Protein, Kinesin-like Protein 4, KNSL4, KID, Kinesin-like Protein KIF22, OriP Binding Protein, OBP1, OBP2, OBP, Origin of Plasmid DNA Replication Binding Protein)
Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of kinesin-like protein family. This family of proteins are microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. The C-terminal half of this protein has been shown to bind DNA. Studies with the Xenopus homolog suggests its essential role in metaphase chromosome alignment and maintenance.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
