| Specificity: |
| Recognizes the lambda immunoglobulin light chain, which comprises approximately 40% of light chains in the human. Immunohistochemical detection of immunoglobulins is useful in determining the lymphoid origin of tissues and in the assessment of lymphoid proliferations as reactive or malignant. The assessment of light chain status is particularly important in this regard as it may be used to demonstrate the clonal nature of a tumor. |
