LRP, MVP (Lung-resistance Related Protein, Major Vault Protein)
Major vault protein (MVP) is identical to lung resistance related protein (LRP). Its shape is reminiscent of the nucleopore central plug. Treatment of cells with estradiol increases the amount of MVP in nuclear extract. The hormone-dependent interaction of vaults with ER is prevented in vitro by sodium molybdate. Antibodies to progesterone and glucocortoid receptors are also able to co-immunoprecipitate the MVP. Reportedly, the lung resistance related protein (LRP) is identical to human MVP. LRP is overexpressed in many neoplasitc tissues and cells lines indicating a poor response to chemotherapy.

Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunoprecipitation (Native verified): 2ug/mg protein lysate Use Protein G.
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hrs at RT.
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:50-1:100 for 20 minutes at RT. Note: Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Recommended Positive Controls:
SKBR3 cells and breast carcinomas

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
