Luzopeptin is a member of the echinomycin (quinomycin A) class of antitumor and antibiotic agents that act by formation of a stable DNA complex by bis-intercalation. Luzopeptin A has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase.

Soluble in DMF or DMSO. Moderately soluble in methanol or ethanol. Poor water solubility.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile DMF or DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
